Who We Are
We’re neighbors, friends, and ocean lovers who come together to protect our planet. Armed with buckets, gloves, and plenty of seagull spirit, we work to remove trash and debris from the shoreline while raising awareness about overconsumption, the single-use plastic problem, and the importance of coastal stewardship.
Our Mission
Seagull Defense Squad is a volunteer-led group dedicated to keeping the beaches and coastlines of Aquidneck and Conanicut Islands clean and healthy. We believe everyone deserves to enjoy the beauty of Rhode Island’s shores, and that small, consistent efforts can make a big difference for our community and local wildlife.
What We Do
Our group organizes regular cleanups at local beaches and coastal parks. These events are open to anyone who wants to help—whether you can join for five minutes or two hours, your contribution matters. Check out our Cleanup Counter to see how much we've picked up since starting on July 9, 2025.
